Hitherto executive director, Miriam Olusanya is now the managing director of Nigeria's Guaranty Trust Bank. The nomination was announced on Wednesday 14 July 2021

Miriam Olusanya will be the first woman to lead the bank since it was founded in 1990. The new CEO of GTBank has more than 23 years of experience in the banking sector. She has served in a variety of units including transaction services, capital markets, corporate finance, and investor relations, among others. She joined GTBank in October 2004 as treasurer and rose through the ranks in strategic leadership positions. Prior to her recent appointment, the holder of an MBA in finance and accounting was responsible for banking services. She also sits on the board of directors of Guaranty Trust Bank (Gambia) Limited as a non-executive director
