The institution has announced the appointment of Kirstine Damkjaer, former CEO of Danish export credit agency EKF, to its board of directors as an independent non-executive director.
The qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) with a Masters degree from Aarhus University (Denmark) has served as Global Head of Industry Equity, Manager in the Department of Global Infrastructure and Natural Resources, Director of the IFC asset management company and senior portfolio manager at the World Bank Treasury. She will sit on the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Company's Board of Directors and on the Risk and Investment Committee of the Board of Directors. “I am honored to join AFC at such a pivotal time when, more than ever in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the company's technical expertise and unique access to global capital are badly needed by African governments. who are working towards a resilient economic recovery,” said Damkjaer. Established in 2007, AFC has invested more than $8.7 billion in 35 African countries, driving development and integrating the economies of the continent.
