The Training and Research Center of the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO), in partnership with Afreximbank and the World Organization of Factoring Companies (FCI) is launching a series of online training sessions on the theme “Factoring and Receivables Finance” on Tuesday.

The training of the West African Center for Banking Training and Studies (COFEB) is organized with the objective of “strengthening the skills of actors involved in factoring activities in Africa, in particular Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)”. These international webinars are organized for African central banks, credit institutions and microfinance institutions for a duration of three days. They will provide “a better understanding of the evolution of factoring, the challenges for SMEs and financial institutions as well as the implications in terms of financing the economy.” The purpose of this training is also to “strengthen ownership of the regulations governing factoring activities but also to present the experiences of FCI and Afreximbank in terms of promoting factoring activities and the facilities put in place to support SMEs,” the press release states.
