At the end of the first quarter of 2021, the net sales excluding taxes of Filatures, Tissages, Sacs, Côte d'Ivoire (Filtisac) S.A increased by 4% compared to the first quarter of 2020. The announcement was made by the managers of this company based in Abidjan

.

Filtisac's turnover was 9.921 billion FCFA compared to 9.531 billion FCFA at 31 March 2020, a decrease of 390 million FCFA in absolute terms. On the other hand, operating income fell by 32%, from 475 million FCFA at 31 March 2020 to 322 million FCFA a year later. The current profit before taxes followed the same downward trend, amounting to 204 million FCFA compared to 346 million FCFA in the first quarter of 2020 (-41%). According to company officials, this situation is due to the rise in the price of raw materials, sea freight, and supply difficulties that have an impact on the level and costs of production. For the rest of fiscal year 2021, Filtisac officials say that measures have been taken to ensure a steady supply of raw materials in the current difficult context
