Named Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Solar Power Plant, the Blitta Solar Power Plant was built by AMEA Togo Solar, a subsidiary of AMEA Power. According to the Togolese authorities, it should generate around 90,255 MWh of energy per year, and serve about 158,333 Togolese households with energy, including 9% of the demand in the central region. The book was financed to the tune of 21 billion FCFA by the West African Development Bank (BOAD), and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD). Developer of the power plant, AMEA Power, a subsidiary of Al Nowais Investment (ANI) based in the United Arab Emirates, will operate it for 25 years with the specifications of contributing to the saving of one million tons of CO2 emissions expected on the platform throughout its lifespan
