.The U.S. Supreme Court does not consider itself competent in the case that accuses Nestlé of complicity in forced child labor on cocoa farms in Côte d'Ivoire. The case was brought by six Malians who say they were captured as children and then kept in slavery on Ivorian plantations, where the American subsidiary of the Nestlé group and the American agricultural commodity trading and processing giant Cargill bought cocoa. In 2005, they filed a lawsuit in the United States against Nesté USA and Cargill, arguing that both companies knew what was going on in these farms and had turned a blind eye to “maintain a competitive advantage
