Abidjan, The company Olam, one of the leaders in the agro-industry in the world and in Côte d'Ivoire, organized, on Friday September 27, 2019, a day dedicated to its suppliers in Côte d'Ivoire as well as to tendering suppliers, at its headquarters located in the industrial zone of Vridi.

This supplier day is the first edition and an initiative which is intended to be annual at Olam in Côte d'Ivoire, to help its suppliers to understand and comply with its policies such as the supplier code, anti-corruption policy and invoice processing.

It is an opportunity to create a platform with its suppliers to remind them of its requirements and to share their concerns, with the aim of constantly improving the quality of their collaboration and the services provided.

About sixty suppliers took part in this 1st edition of Olam's supplier day, welcoming this initiative which allows them each year to benefit from new recommendations from the agro-industrial company.

Olam works with more than 190 partner structures in Côte d'Ivoire, thus indirectly employing more than 4,000 people.

Thanks to this partnership and the support of Olam for 25 years, many of them have experienced considerable growth.

25 years ago, the company was exporting cashew nuts from Ivory Coast to India. Its model has evolved rapidly and is based on an unparalleled presence in communities in rural areas, as close as possible to producers and supply areas. Today, it has developed extensive purchasing and logistics networks across the country for products such as cocoa, cashew, cotton, coffee and rubber.

“We source from more than 330,000 smallholders and thousands of cooperatives and suppliers. We work closely with hundreds of local businesses across the country to create mutual value,” said the managers of the company based at Boulevard de Vridi, in the Port Zone of Abidjan Port-Bouët.
