Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), the parent company of the Ecobank Group, held its 33rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Extraordinary General Meeting online on 27 May 2021.

The shareholders of the first pan-African bank, present in 34 countries, approved, in particular, the renewal of the directorships of Mr. Alain Nkontchou, Mr. Brian Kennedy and Mr. David O'Sullivan for a period of three years. They also ratified the co-option of Mr. Hervé Assah as director for a term of three years ending on the third anniversary of his co-option as director

ETI's annual profit was 201 million USD, compared to 184 million USD in 2019. The Group's net banking income grew by 4% to reach USD 1,680 million. The President of the Ecobank Group, Mr. Alain Nkontchou, said: “We have offered our support in many forms to customers, employees, communities, health authorities and governments. Thanks to our multiple distribution channels and our substantial investments in technology, we have been able to ensure seamless service continuity. We intend to grow our business and remain at the forefront of trade, payments, money transfers, and financial inclusion by continuously leveraging technology and smart partnerships.”

The Annual General Meeting was followed by an Extraordinary General Meeting during which the shareholders voted to amend the relevant section of the company's articles of association to reflect the appointment of auditors by the company at the General Assembly.
