The financier Simon Tiemtoré, after having bought the subsidiaries of BNP Paribas in Burkina and Guinea, is betting on digitalization to impose Vista bank in Burkina. Lilium Capital, which controls Vista Bank, has obtained the green light from the Union Banking Commission West African money market for the acquisition of the Burkinabè subsidiary of the French group BNP Paribas. The Burkinabè banker's investment holding company has also obtained “single approval” from the West African regulator, which is necessary in the long term to develop more quickly across the eight UEMOA countries. The information was revealed by Jeune Afrique Business+.

Vista Bank's arrival in Ouagadougou is in line with the policy of Burkinabe President Roch Marc Christian Kaboré, which is to make the capital of Faso a regional financial centre. By focusing on digitalisation, Lilium capital has chosen BPC's Radar Payments service provider to manage all of its payment processing activities and intends to deploy its digital strategy in Burkina with the same partner.
