Ghana will soon be the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to import LNG via a floating regasification unit (called FSRU), positioned in Tema since January 6. While the initial schedule provided for a first delivery in March-April, Major Shell should finally deliver its first LNG cargo ship in June at the new Ghanaian Tema LNG gas terminal.
Shell will sell its LNG at a price of between $5 and $6.50/MMBTU, depending on the price of a barrel of Brent.
