Versus Bank marks its great return to the Ivorian banking market with the opening of a new branch in Abatta in the municipality of Cocody. The inauguration ceremony took place this Saturday, May 08, 2021 in the presence of Ministers Moussa Sanogo, Félix Anoblé and Adama Coulibaly.

The Managing Director of Versus Bank Côte d'Ivoire, Jérôme Ehui explained that the opening of the Abatta branch responds to a need for proximity with customers. “The opening of the Versus bank branch in Abatta, the 4th of its kind, is part of the strategy to extend the bank's network to eight branches by 2030,” he specified.
According to Jérôme Ehui, after Abatta, two other agencies will open later this year. For Minister Moussa Sanogo, who co-chaired the ceremony, this bank experienced a dynamic of growth and performance which enabled the lifting by the Banking Commission of Umoa (West African Monetary Union), in June 2020, of the placed under close surveillance to which the bank had been subject since 2006.
According to the Minister, Versus bank has been able to lead "a successful transition towards a healthy financial performance which was characterized in particular by the revival of credit activity to the economy, in particular to SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises), cost control, with an operating ratio which stood at 55% in 2020, below the average for the banking sector which is 62%”.
The total balance sheet of the bank was multiplied to settle at 128 billion CFA Francs allowing Versus Bank to pass from the category of small bank to that of a medium-sized bank. Versus Bank is a national bank with a capital held 57% by the State and 43% by the General Pension Fund for State Agents.
