Exports of beans from Côte d'Ivoire totaled 1,075,849 tonnes (t), down 8% compared to the same period last year, according to provisional port statistics data released yesterday which includes the ports of Abidjan. and San Pedro.

Cocoa exports fell to 5,756 t between January and the end of March, i.e. down 63% compared to the first quarter of 2020. As for cotton, the volumes sold internationally fell to 83,776 t between January and at the end of March, slipping by 1% compared to the start of 2020. Natural rubber is on the same pattern with shipments of 242,621 t between the start of January and the end of March 2021, i.e. 30% less than in January-March 2020.
Shipments of cocoa products (powder, butter, chocolate) performed much better, totaling 223,921 t, an increase of 10% compared to the equivalent period October 2019-end March 2020. We also note 120 t of chocolate shipped from port of San Pedro, whereas there had been none in the previous months or at the start of 2020.
