The extension of the electricity network in the urban centers of Togo will bring reliable electricity to more than 500,000 Togolese. In this context, the Director General of AFD, Rémy Rioux, signed a loan agreement of 40 million euros for the financing of PERECUT, a project to extend the electricity network in the urban centers of Togo.

The financing agreement was signed in the presence of Faure Gnassingbé, President of the Togolese Republic and Jean-Yves le Drian, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. The AFD financing is accompanied by a grant of 15 million euros mobilized from the European Union as well as a KfW grant of 15 million euros. This project aims to promote access to more than 100,000 households, or more than 500,000 people, to reliable electricity.
PERECUT is the second European co-financed project (AFD/KfW/EU) in the electricity sector in Togo after PEREL (Lomé electricity network extension project), currently being deployed, marking both the very good European cooperation in the energy sector in Togo and its central place in the sector.
