Oil sector experts met on 15 April in Pointe-Noire under the leadership of the Minister of Hydrocarbons, Jean-Marc Thystere Tchicaya, accompanied by managers of oil companies based in Congo to set hydrocarbon prices.

The quarterly averages of fixed prices for hydrocarbons produced in Congo, agreed during the 2021 first-quarter price meeting, in dollars per barrel, are as follows: Djéno Mélange: 61.08; Nkossa Blend: 60.49; Yombo: 66.64; Nkossa Butane: 48.91; Nkossa Propane 42.42.
The average price differentials for Congolese crudes in dollars per barrel are as follows: Djéno Blend: -0.3 compared to dated Brent; Nkossa Blend: -0.4 compared to dated Brent; Yombo: +5.7 compared to dated Brent; Nkossa Butane: +0.2 compared to North West Europe butane; Nkossa Propane: +4.7 compared to MONT BELVIEU Propane.
For the Minister of Hydrocarbons, oil companies have just passed the first quarter of 2021, with an upward trend in oil prices, notwithstanding fluctuations due to the global evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since the beginning of 2021, the price of a barrel of oil has risen from 50 to around 65 dollars at the end of March with a peak close to 70 dollars, an increase of almost 35%
