The Senegalese authorities are seeking to catch up on the operational side of the project to build the tracks for the future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Dakar, which will be awarded to a French consortium including Meridiam.

Led by the Dakar Executive Council of Urban Transport (Cetud), an authority led by Thierno Birahim AW, this project to build the routes for the future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Dakar will eventually allow passengers to take high-capacity buses running on exclusively reserved lanes between the city center and the immediate suburbs of Dakar.

Africa Intelligence reports that the Senegalese State has entered into negotiations with a French consortium led by the Meridiam investment fund, to determine the terms of the operating contract for the future Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) in Dakar.
The choice made by the French consortium, which also includes RATP and SNCF, follows the abandonment at the end of 2019 of its Hispanic competitor, composed of the Spanish Empresa Municipal de Transportes de Madrid (EMT) and Nexcon, as well as the Peruvian Transvial, who did not submit their offer
