The leaders of the National Telecommunications Office (ONATEL) of Burkina Faso have announced that from June 1, 2021, the company will pay its shareholders an annual net dividend of 27.170 billion FCFA, or 40.755 million euros.

ONATEL's annual net dividend is up by 843 million FCFA compared to the 2019 financial year when it amounted to 26.327 billion FCFA.

Compared to the 68 million shares making up the company's share capital, this corresponds to a net dividend per share of 399.564 FCFA against 387.17 FCFA in 2019, an increase of 12.394 FCFA.

ONATEL Burkina achieved at the end of the 2020 financial year a profit after tax of 31.052 billion FCFA, up 3.2% compared to the 2019 financial year. Its turnover also increased by 2.1%. to 157.4 billion FCFA against 154.1 billion FCFA in 2019.

The operating result of this telephone company based in Ouagadougou also evolved positively by 6%, standing at 48.521 billion FCFA against 45.759 billion FCFA as of December 31, 2019.

This upward trend was noted at the level of the result of ordinary activities which was posted at 43.327 billion FCFA against 41.452 billion FCFA a year earlier (+4.5%).
