Presiding over the official ceremony, Moumouni Lougué, Director General of Taxation, hinted that the tax services work on the basis of a file and this file must be constantly up to date. And since the tax population is mobile, it cannot therefore be the same as it was ten years ago.

Resuming this operation, which was initiated in the past, makes it possible to update the file, to be able to capture new taxpayers, to put them under lease contracts and ultimately to increase the tax base and therefore improve taxation.

The Centre's regional tax director, Ahmed Nombre, said that the operation should eventually make it possible to have an exhaustive and up-to-date file of landlords and tenants in the Central Tax Directorates (DCI), to have regular lease contracts drawn up for all registered tenants and to have expired contracts renewed.
