The African Development Bank (AfDB) wants to strengthen the presence of women in the ECOWAS digital financial market. Thus he released a grant of $320,000 (more than 177 million FCFA), for the integration of gender in the digital financial services (DFS) of the space. The grant from the pan-African institution will make it possible to "carry out an analysis of the gender gaps which appear in several strategies of the West African Monetary Agency (WAMA)", and this, "including those relating to financial inclusion, gender-disaggregated data analysis, digital payment services and infrastructure, and digital identity”. In the long term, it will be a question of bringing to 35% the participation of women in the operations of the digital financial market in the sub-region. A sector that “presents a greater gender disparity than other parts of the continent”.
