The Sustainable Energy Fund for Africa (SEFA) of the African Development Bank (ADB) supports the Energy Engineering Corporation (SIE) in its energy supply policy.

The ADB has just granted a grant of around 9 million dirhams (965,000 dollars) to SIE to support its transition to the first Super Energy Service Company (ESCO) initiative in Africa.
According to Ahmed Baroudi, CEO of the SIE, this support from the ADB “will enable the new SIE to be operationalized as a Super ESCO, thus creating a model that is well aligned with the needs of the country's energy efficiency sector.”
SUPER ESCOs are in fact vectors for channeling funds towards public sector energy efficiency investments such as hospitals, schools and public lighting, laying the foundations for private investment later in the commercial and industrial sectors.
“As a Super ESCO, SIE should be able to overcome numerous challenges related to increasing investments in energy efficiency,” says the ADB.
