The National Agency for Statistics and Demography (Ansd) emphasizes in its latest publication "
INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION PRICE INDEX (BASE 100 IN 2006) FLASH July 2019 » that
industrial activity was marked, in July 2019, by a decline in production prices of 0.3%, at a rate
monthly.
This decline is attributable to that of production prices in the chemical industries (-3.7%),
building materials (-0.8%), and mechanical (-0.4%). It is noted, however, a rise in prices in
energy production industries (+2.8%).
Production prices in the mining, food, textile and leather, paper and cardboard industries,
as well as those of other manufacturing industries did not experience significant variations over the period.
Compared to those of July 2018, industrial producer prices increased by 0.1%.
On the other hand, notes the agency, over the first seven months of 2019, average prices increased by 0.9%,
compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
