According to LAB/FT experts, the certification of BGFIBank RDC, is based on the requirements and best practices at the international level, in terms of the fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism demonstrated by the said Bank. .

According to the press release from BGFIBank, a copy of which has reached our editorial staff, the certification of the said bank in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the fruit of a job well done.

It should be noted that BGFIBank is the first bank in the DRC and one of the few in sub-Saharan Africa to obtain AML 30000® certification, an international standard designed to fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism.

According to Samir Brahimi, accredited AML auditor and ex-President of FATF Middle East/North Africa, “BGFIBank DRC is an example to follow for the upgrading of institutional AML/CFT mechanisms in the DRC”.

The Managing Director of BGFIBank RDC Mrs. Marlene Ngoyi Mvidia, did not hide her satisfaction: “We are delighted to receive this prestigious certification and I would like to thank all the employees for the work accomplished in order to achieve this. We believe it is important for the entire African banking sector to achieve this level of certification in order to reassure local and international stakeholders. The Chairman and CEO of BGFIBank Group, Mr. Henri-Claude Oyima, for his part, urged the teams to improve continuously during the 3 years of validity of the AML 30000® certification.

It should be noted, however, that the evaluation of this procedure was carried out by Maghreb Corporate (member of the IWK Group) and the certification issued by COFICERT (Commission for Financial Certifications); two independent bodies which confirm that the bank now complies with the AML 30000® Referential and a set of essential criteria for the control and management of AML/FT risks.
