Djeka Pharmaco, an industrial unit specializing in the manufacture of food supplements, is an Ivorian SME supported by the Agency for the Development of the Competitiveness of Industries of Côte d'Ivoire, ADCI, through the National Program for Restructuring and Upgrading, PNRMN.
Thanks to this support, this company was able to benefit from the advice and guidance of the ADCI to get out of the informal sector, become more professional and gain credibility. And raise funding of 150 million FCFA to develop its activities.
Like Djeka Pharmaco, 75 companies joined this program between October 2016 and June 2019. A 4-year program, funded by the State of Côte d'Ivoire with support from the African Development Bank, ADB, for an amount of 8.2 billion FCFA, within the framework of the Industrial Sector Competitiveness Support Project (PARCSI).
The objective is to provide direct support to national companies to improve their managerial, commercial and industrial performance and facilitate their access to financing, which is essential for their development.
" The idea is to support the dynamics of increasing industrial added value and employment, particularly for young people and women, while improving the quality of Ivorian manufactured products to facilitate their access to the international market in a context of liberalization and opening up of the economy " emphasizes Diabaté Mohamed, Director General of ADCI.
Before calling on the State and the Ivorian private sector to make the ADCI "a formidable machine" which will confer a competitive advantage when it comes to competing with other countries in the African Continental Free Trade Area (ZLECAF). A very large free trade market of 1.3 billion consumers, the implementation of which is scheduled for July 1, 2020.
Because at present, " the level of financing of the ADCI, is still low to be up to the expectations of the State, the shareholders and to make local industries, competitive entities in the face of competition both at the regional, continental and international level ," he said.
