The BGFIBank group has, once again, illustrated itself positively during the Annual Meetings of the African Development Bank (AfDB). The Gabonese banking group was named the best bank in Central Africa during the "African Banker Trophies", 2020 edition, which took place by videoconference last week.

This is the third consecutive year that this Gabonese bank has received this distinction. But the 5th time she wins this trophy. For many analysts of the banking sector in Africa, this performance stems from the vision and leadership of its management staff, whose chairman and CEO of the group is none other than Henri-Claude Oyima.

This leadership has enabled this bank to optimize the quality of its services and raise BGFIBank as a reference bank in Central Africa. According to the organizing committee of the "African Banker Awards", for this 14th edition of the "African Banker Trophies", the Gabonese banking group has offered new services for reaching new customers in the sub-region. Other arguments are the fact of having developed financial inclusiveness by integrating unbanked people into the banking space. And above all for having ensured the digital transformation, using the new technologies that have invigorated the financial sector.

This distinction is therefore a source of pride for Gabon, as it confirms the leadership of the Gabonese banking sector (2 million inhabitants) ahead of economies as dynamic as that of Cameroon (approximately 20 million inhabitants).

Like other economic players, BGFIBank is facing an unprecedented health and economic crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. In this context with multifaceted consequences, the banking group has fully mobilized, relying on the reforms undertaken in recent years.
