The National Institute of Directors of Côte d'Ivoire (INAD-CI) is committed to continuing the implementation of the Certificate of Directors of Public Companies (CASP) to help improve corporate governance in Côte d'Ivoire , reports an information note sent to the AIP.

The decision was announced by the President of IND-CI, Viviane Zunon-Kipré, during the official ceremony for the awarding of the Certificate of Directors of Public Companies (CASP), organized on Friday August 14, 2020 in Abidjan.

"The objective of the Certificate of Directors of Public Companies is to increase the performance of public companies by choosing to develop the skills of their directors (...) This unique program was born thanks to the foresight of the Minister of the Budget and of the State Portfolio, Moussa Sanogo, and executed with the support of the General Directorate of the State Portfolio under the leadership of its first official, Seydou Bamba", she indicated.

The government of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, by taking the historic decision on March 6, 2019, to institute this Certificate of Directors of Public Companies (CASP), will contribute, according to the President of INAD-CI, to increase the multiplier effect of good governance practices in companies and consequently in the entire economic sector.

A total of 282 directors, including 28 women, make up the first promotion of public company directors who received their certificates. In addition to the CASP supported by the Moroccan Institute of Administrators (IMA), the Order of Chartered Accountants of Cote d'Ivoire, the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), INAD-CI offers another high-level program called Certificate of Company Directors in the UEMOA space (CAS UEMOA) and other capacity building spaces such as INAD-CI training and INAD-CI performance class.

The National Institute of Directors of Côte d'Ivoire has been fighting since its creation on April 9, 2013 for the professionalization of the profession of company director in sub-Saharan Africa.
