The Central Bank of West African States ( Bceao ) has just published an update of the banking landscape of the UEMOA countries.

With regard to Togo, we note on the one hand that a new financial institution should soon be established in the country, namely the branch of the Development Bank of Mali (BDM), which has indeed obtained its authorization installation.

On the other hand, it is recalled that African Lease Togo (ALT) has obtained its approval, as a Financial Institution of a banking nature (by Ministerial Order, dated August 16, 2019).

Finally, the Central Bank endorses the change of corporate name of Banque Populaire pour l'épargne et le credit (formerly BPEC), which has become Sunu Bank (by ministerial decree dated November 20, 2019).

No write-offs were recorded over the period under review.

To date, Togo therefore has 14 banks (including 11 subsidiaries, and 3 branches), and 3 financial institutions of a banking nature (including 2 subsidiaries)
