The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), through its Commission "Accompaniment
of sectors and companies in need of restructuring", and the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development (EBRD), through its support program for SMEs, are jointly organizing a series
webinars on the theme of “Financial crisis management in times of Covid-19”.
This initiative is part of the actions of the CGEM and the EBRD to support companies in the
private sector in the management of the crisis induced by the pandemic.
Aimed at SMEs, these e-conferences, which will each be held in two sessions scheduled from May 12 to 4
June 2020, aim to highlight the scenarios for emerging from the crisis, the optimal management of the situation
the company's financial situation in the short term, as well as the financial preparation in the medium and long term
the post-crisis period. They will be moderated by Ms. Salma Benaddou, founder and managing partner of
Burj Finance, specialist in corporate finance.
It should be noted that the EBRD launched in 2012, thanks to the support of the European Union, the program "Advice for
Small Businesses (ASB)" which aims to technically and financially support VSEs/SMEs through
tailor-made consulting and expertise services delivered by a network of local consultants and experts
international industrialists. To date, more than 600 support projects have been carried out in favor of
VSEs/SMEs, thus generating more than 6,000 jobs for the Moroccan economy, an improvement of more than
40% of turnover and access to financing of more than 40% for companies benefiting from this
program.
Bank Al-Maghrib called on credit institutions to suspend, until further notice, any distribution
dividends for the 2019 financial year, BAM said in a press release.
In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, credit institutions are called upon to strengthen
their role in financing the economy, notes the press release, specifying that for this purpose, BAM has already
adopted a set of monetary and prudential policy measures aimed at facilitating access to credit
banking for the benefit of both households and businesses.
For the same purpose, it is important that credit institutions maintain capital
sufficient to cope with the effects of the crisis and thus preserve their ability to grant financing in
these exceptional circumstances, notes the same source. BAM will continue to closely monitor the
implications of the health crisis on the national economy and the financial system and would take, if necessary,
necessary measures to deal with it, the statement added.
At the beginning of May, the American computer giant "DELL" concluded with MEDZ, a subsidiary of CDG
Development, a new agreement for the renewal of the lease of its site at Casanearshore Park. This site,
classified by DELL as a "Center of Excellence", currently has more than 2,000 employees over a
area of 20,000 m² and offers services to customers present in 35 countries in 7
different languages.
“The quality of the site and the strategic partnership with MEDZ strongly contribute to the development of our
activities," said Ahmed Khalil, General Manager DELL EMC North and West Africa. This
agreement covers a new firm period of 6 years as well as an extension of their activity, with a
additional capacity of more than 15%.

Such an agreement testifies to DELL's renewed confidence in the choice of the Morocco destination and the
quality and competitiveness of the infrastructure developed by MEDZ in a logic of Smart Sourcing.
