An exchange meeting on the theme ''Governance of public companies: cross-views between the State shareholder and accounting and auditing professionals'' opened this Thursday, February 20, 2020 between the Ministry to the Prime , Minister, in charge of Budget and State Portfolio (MPMBPE) and accounting and auditing professionals in Abidjan-Plateau.

This joint reflection aims, according to the organizers, to present the reforms and the difficulties encountered and to share the perspectives of the State-shareholder, in terms of governance, control and financial communication of public companies.

The Minister attached to the Prime Minister, in charge of the Budget and the State Portfolio, Moussa Sanogo, at the opening of the works, specified that it will be a question of debating, during this day, the essential problems related to the governance of public companies with chartered accountants, audit and company control professionals. This is why he indicated to the Chartered Accountants and Auditors that this seminar is an opportunity to share the vision and the perspectives of the State-Shareholder, in terms of improving the governance of public companies with a view, precisely , to seek their wise advice.

Long before, the Director General of the State Portfolio, Bamba Seydou, indicated that this meeting testifies to the importance that the General Management attaches to discussions for the advancement of financial communications of public companies. "This meeting is further proof of the important role played by accounting and auditing professionals in the governance of public enterprises", he mentioned.

According to Bamba Seydou, the holding of this meeting offers the opportunity to discuss the process of closing and stopping the accounts of public companies; review the difficulties related to the tendering procedures and the execution of audit and study assignments. This is why he invited the participants to make recommendations to improve the said processes and procedures.

This exchange meeting will be punctuated by two (2) presentations on the themes: Assessment and prospects for improving the governance of public enterprises and Contribution of accounting and auditing professionals to improving corporate governance. public.
