The 2020 budget of the Ministry of Water and Sanitation is set at 113,329,743,144 CFA francs, indicates the
report of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly.
The general discussion, which started shortly after 10 a.m., is chaired by the Vice-President of the Assembly
National Aissatou Sow Diawara, in the presence of the Minister of Water and Sanitation Serigne Mbaye Thiam,
came to defend this draft budget on behalf of the government.
According to the report of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly consulted by the APS, the 2020 budget of the
Ministry of Water and Sanitation is structured around four programs, including the one entitled "steering,
coordination and administrative management".
There is also "program 2 access to drinking water", "program 3: sanitation and water management
rainfall" and "programme 4: integrated management of water resources".
The deputies have also planned for the coming years a commitment authorization of 1,053,955,504,323
CFA francs for the Ministry of Water and Sanitation.
In his speech, MP Malick Guèye (Grand Parti, opposition), expressed his concerns by
relation to this indebtedness for this ministerial department which was the only one to obtain an authorization
commitment of more than a trillion.
