In order to stimulate the participation of non-state actors in decision-making related to the energy transition, the African Coalition for Sustainable Energy Access launched, on Tuesday 19 April, the Nigerian  platform as part of the African Energy Project. #39;people-centered renewable energy.

The initiative seeks to raise citizens' awareness of energy issues. Nigeria is the largest oil producer in Africa. but the sector is a source of several challenges for a large part of the population, especially in terms of environmental impacts. Also, despite its oil and gas production, the rate of access to electricity is only 60%. This citizens' initiative comes as the Nigerian state tries to remedy its energy deficit by multiplying initiatives and investments, and aims in particular to cover electricity throughout its territory by 2030.
