The synthetic business climate indicator stood at 98.7 compared to 96.5 in January 2022. It remains below its long-term average of 100, mainly because of the optimism of service providers, according to the DPEE. Over a year, the business climate indicator rose by 1.5 points in February 2022.

In industry, the business climate fell by 2.0 points on a monthly basis, reflecting the unfavorable trend in the balance of opinion on orders received. In the building and public works sector, the business climate deteriorated by 0.6 points in monthly terms, reflecting the pessimism of the survey respondents.This was due to the pessimism of respondents regarding general activity and the outlook for business and public orders. In the services sector, the business climate strengthened by 4.9 points in monthly terms, supported by the positive trend in the balance of opinion on prices and expected sales.
