Senegal through the Ministry of the Environment presents its strong recommendations to counter the food crisis in the Sahel and West Africa.

In response to the call launched by ECOWAS and world leaders to strengthen the food system, Senegal, through the Ministry of the Environment, has distinguished itself in this campaign to propose appropriate intervention measures, but also to in the face of a possible food crisis in the Sahel and in West Africa.

The meeting brought together delegates from all member countries of CILSS, ECOWAS and UEMOA among others. During the work, it was a question of evaluating the food and nutritional situation in the Sahel and West Africa, but also of identifying the actions and appropriate measures to support the populations most affected by food insecurity. . At the heart of the recommendations, the importance of the primary sector in the economy and the food and nutritional security of the Member States of the CILSS, ECOWAS and UEMOA space.
