This decision stems from a precautionary policy consistent with the current economic conditions marked above all by new economic and financial shocks exerted by the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia. In a statement issued following its meeting, the Committee explained that the easing of the rate would trigger a new excess of liquidity and would fuel inflationary pressures, the funds available.
