The 2nd edition of the African Economic and Financial Press Forum (FAPEF) was launched this Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the CRRAE-UMOA hall in Côte d'Ivoire. This high-level meeting is an initiative of Michel Russel Lohoré to promote and enhance development journalism in Africa.

Placed under the theme “the challenges of sustainable development in Africa”, FAPEF devoted fruitful debates between journalists, economic and development institutions, economic experts, researchers, companies and students. Held in hybrid mode, it made it possible to review the state of the region on themes relating to major sectors such as finance, education, energy, climate, digital, governance. According to the promoter, Michel Russel Lohoré, the FAPEF aims to contribute to the impetus of economic and financial culture, the expansion of which can only be beneficial to countries in search of development and well-being.

A large inaugural conference was animated on the central theme with as speakers: Adama Wade, Publication Director of Financial Afrik; Emmanuel Barry, Director of the Health, Education and Real Estate Department at the West African Development Bank (BOAD); Rym Ayadi, Professor of Economics, Business School, to name a few. A panel entitled ''How to strengthen the place of women in the economic press'' was dedicated to the representation of women in the media. Ristel Tchounand, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tribune Afrique; Nadia Salah, Former Editorialist and Editorial Director of the Eco-Médias Group; Félicien Houessou, Economic Journalist from Benin; Franck Berthod; President Antilop Development Network (AND), enriched this panel through their various interventions.
