The exchanges held in hybrid mode made it possible to approve overall financing of 63.735 billion FCFA for 3 WAEMU countries.
Under the chairmanship of Serge EKUE, Chairman of BOAD, the Board examined and approved the Bank's accounts for the financial year ended December 31, 2021. According to the press release published at the end of the meeting, the directors approved five project funding proposals.
Senegal received overall financing of 25 billion FCFA. In detail, the country received 15 billion FCFA for the implementation of its Sanitation Program in ten (10) cities and 10 billion FCFA for the establishment of a short-term line of credit in favor of the National Bank for Economic Development (BNDE) for the partial refinancing of the 2021-2022 groundnut campaign.
Hydro-agricultural development with intelligent agricultural practices that are resilient to climate change (PAHA-AIC) in the Republic of Niger received support of 7 billion FCFA. The Board also approved CFAF 10 billion as part of the improvement of the Bissau-Dakar road corridors: development and asphalting of the Farim – Dungal – Senegal border road and construction of the Farim bridge in the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.
In addition, an amount of 21.735 billion FCFA was disbursed for these works which will ensure the opening up of the area in order to facilitate economic, social and cultural exchanges at national and sub-regional level.
