Côte d'Ivoire is relying in part on industrialization to accelerate the structural transformation of its economy and achieve average economic growth of 7.65%. Thus, the government is preparing the construction of a new industrial zone in San Pedro, in the south-west of the country. According to the report of the Council of Ministers of Wednesday, March 9, a plot of nearly 540 hectares was requisitioned for this purpose.

“Holders of customary rights, of definitive title deeds to the rights-of-way of the project, the tenants or their successors in title will receive compensation according to the regulations in force. Also, any transaction, any new construction, even precarious, any work likely to modify the state of the ground, relating to this zone is prohibited, ”specifies the press release. According to the authorities, the infrastructure will aim to strengthen the industrial development of San Pedro.
