The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MESRS) Eléonord Yayi Ladékan has officially launched the VaRRIWA project. Funded by the European Union, the Organization of Caribbean and Pacific States, the project will be implemented in Benin, Burkina-Faso, Senegal and Togo.

With a total cost of 3 billion CFA francs, the VaRRIWA is a project to be carried out over four years. Its main objective is to promote the exploitation of research and innovation results in West Africa, says Project Manager Alioune Faye. "It is in this context that we met today in Cotonou to be able to hold the second meeting of the stakeholders of this project and at the same time proceed to the official launch of three projects that we had to finance in Benin in the universities of Abomey-Calavi and Parakou," she said. The expected results are innovative: help the various beneficiary countries of VaRRIWA to have the mechanisms that will allow innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs, affiliated or not to the Research Center and Universities, to value what they do in terms of discovery , innovation to be able to label them, patent them and market them.
