The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the European Commission are announcing the 10th African Public ^Finance Forum to be held from March 10 to 12. Organized online, this forum will address the large-scale fiscal reforms needed to preserve the sustainability of public finances and increase the resilience of African economies in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The African Public Finance Forum is open to ministers and other African leaders, bilateral partners, multilateral institutions and representatives of civil society. According to the IMF statement, in addition to fiscal reforms, the forum will also discuss ways to overcome economic policy constraints that countries are likely to face in the coming years.

A panel discussion will explore the nature of the policy constraints that countries are likely to face in the years to come; draw lessons from international experience to identify politically and socially acceptable solutions; and discuss how donor and IFI interventions could better address political economy risks.
