The International Finance Corporation (IFC) announced on Monday, February 28, 2022, the appointment of a new regional representative for Benin, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo. With nearly thirty years of experience in international development, Kyle Kelhofer will work to support private sector growth, job creation and post-COVID-19 recovery in West Africa.

Kyle Kelhofer, the new senior regional representative for Benin, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo previously worked for IFC in Ghana. He succeeds Ronke-Amoni Ogunsulire. According to the press release announcing his appointment, Kyle Kelhofer has worked on energy efficiency financing in Eastern Europe, SME financing in sub-Saharan Africa, post-conflict financing in the Middle East and early financings. Speaking about his new role, Kyle Kelhofer said the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, poverty and unemployment are serious and intertwined challenges, but working with public and private sector partners, the IFC can help the region lay the foundations for strong and sustainable growth. In Benin, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Togo, IFC's work includes supporting the agribusiness sector, closing infrastructure and connectivity gaps, promoting digital inclusion and finance micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
