Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal, two UEMOA countries which risk receiving several economic shocks, following the heavy sanctions of ECOWAS against Mali.

In addition to the consequences of the measures on Mali, they will also severely affect Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal, two WAEMU countries, which are the main recipients of Malian products. In 2020, they handled 35.9% and 54.9% of Mali's live animal exports respectively. Moreover, these two countries are also the two main suppliers of Mali with 35.4% and 45.5% in 2020.

"Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal, the main recipients of this product, absorb respectively 35.9% and 54.9% of live animal exports", states the Balance of payment and international external position of Mali - 2020 drawn up by BCEAO. It should be noted that Mali also supplies WAEMU with iron and steel 4.3%, energy products 4.4%, vegetables and fruits 2.7%.
