Despite US inflation, the European currency is at its highest level in two months against the dollar. The strong US inflation, published on Wednesday, is already taken into account by the markets and hardly surprised investors.

The euro rose above the $1.14 threshold on Wednesday for the first time since November. Around 8:00 p.m. GMT, the euro gained 0.69% to 1.1446 dollars for one euro, a record since mid-November. Consumer prices in the United States rose 7% over the year 2021, recording their largest increase since June 1982, according to the CPI index published on Wednesday by the Department of Labor.
