Foreign exchange reserves, excluding gold, reached 44.724 billion dollars at the end of September 2021, according to the governor of the Bank of Algeria (BA), Rostom Fadhli who specifies that this performance was propelled by the rise in oil prices.

The Governor of the BA notably highlighted the sharp increase in the total value of hydrocarbon exports, estimated at 57.3%, rising from 14.868 billion dollars at the end of September 2020 to 23.387 billion at the end of September 2021. , exports of non-hydrocarbon goods recorded an increase, reaching 3.015 billion dollars during the period under review against 1.372 billion dollars at the end of September 2020 (+120%).
