The Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa (GIABA) is organizing a regional awareness workshop from December 6 to 7, 2021 in Lomé. This meeting focuses on AML/CFT and is dedicated to actors from Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of ECOWAS Member States.

The fight against money laundering and the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) requires today more than ever the involvement of all stakeholders. The objectives of the regional workshop are, among others, to sensitize CSO actors on the consequences of ML/FT in the sub-region; to strengthen their capacities in the fight; to mobilize them so that they can carry out advocacy in order to influence the effective implementation of AML/CFT regimes at the national and sub-regional level; to raise their awareness of the relevance of using their platforms for the dissemination of information, publications and for the sharing of reliable information on AML/CFT; identify an effective strategy to build a solid network of committed West African CSOs.
