The virtuosos of the production of counterfeit NINA cards had never ceased to give the banks a hard time. Counterfeiters extorted mountains of money from banks estimated at hundreds of millions.

The counterfeiters managed to deceive the fine bankers. Without scruples, they stole millions before their treachery was discovered. The exceptional level of quality of the documents quickly directed the investigators to agents of the RAVEC Directorate. A first suspect apprehended was carrying numerous administrative documents in his bag. By pushing their investigations further, the gendarmes had found that other people were involved but in an organized manner. It is a whole pharmacy of 13 people including 10 from the RAVEC management who were placed in police custody. They have all acknowledged the facts and assumed their role in this very lucrative scam.
