European equities are expected to start slightly lower after mixed indicators in Asia. The Eurostoxx 50 opens at 4,370.33 points (+0.28%), the CAC 40 at 7,091.40 points (+0.45%), the DAX 40 at 16,094.07 points (+0.07% ), the FTSE 100 at 7,347.91 points (-0.49%), the SMI at 12,516.05 points (+0.76%), the AEX at 820.30 points (+0.48%), the BEL 20 at 4,330.95 points (-0.95%), IBEX 35 at 9,080.80 points (-0.13%), DJIA at 36,100.31 points (+0.50%), Nasdaq at 15,860.96 points (+1.00%), the S&P 500 at 4,682.85 points (+0.72%) and the Nikkei 225 at 29,776.80 points (+0.56%).

Regarding exchange rates, the change from the close in New York indicates that EUR/USD opens at 1.1460 (+0.13%), EUR/JPY at 130.46 (+0.07%), USD/JPY at 113.85 (-0.06%).

The aeronautics and defense group Airbus delivered its long-term market forecasts on Saturday, counting on a need for 39,020 new aircraft by 2040. The aircraft manufacturer also announced orders for 255 single-aisle A321s as part of from the Dubai Airshow this weekend. These orders come from four airlines all belonging to the American investment company Indigo Partners.

The main European equity indices should start the week on a cautious note, after a series of contrasting economic indicators in China and Japan and in a climate of concern over the resurgence of Covid-19 cases in Europe. At 7:35 a.m., the futures contract on the CAC 40 lost 11 points, or 0.2%, according to data from the broker IG Markets, while that on the DAX 40 fell by 11 points, or 0.1%. Last week's stronger-than-expected consumer price numbers only confirmed that inflation under -underlying was high and spreading," the Australian bank said. Nevertheless, the US indicators that will be published this week will probably not constitute an argument in favor of a tightening of monetary policy, underlines CBA. The bank considers that the euro-dollar pair should decline slightly.

Oil contracts continue to decline on Monday morning after having accused last week their third consecutive week of decline, operators wondering about a possible drain on the strategic reserves of the United States to support the offer. At 7:25 a.m., the January contract for Brent North Sea crude fell 58 cents to $81.59 a barrel. The December contract on Nymex-listed WTI fell 49 cents to $80.30 a barrel.
