Massive fall during the Tour de France: the spectator with the sign in front of justice

The message to his grandparents on the road to the Tour de France could cost him dearly. The woman who had caused a massive fall of runners by holding up a sign during the first stage in June, is judged Thursday in Brest. "Go opi-omi!" --grandpa-grandma in German, her grandmother being of German origin-- she had written in large letters on a piece of cardboard addressed to her grandparents, unconditional fans of the Grande Boucle. It was June 26, in the town of Sizun, 45 km from the finish of the first stage of the Tour, part of Brest. The young woman, who lives in Finistère, had brandished her sign by encroaching on the roadway, with her back to the peloton. Several runners, launched at high speed, had not been able to avoid it. The German Tony Martin, the first to fall, had involved in his fall many other cyclists. Her message went around the world, but the consequences of what the 31-year-old called "foolishness" were severe.

IN SHORT

Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has announced that he will ultimately not be vaccinated against Covid-19, after claiming for months that he would be "the last Brazilian" immune.

34 people, including 27 college students, were "slightly poisoned" in a college in Martignas-sur-Jalle (Gironde), probably by gases from an Arianegroup facility located nearby.

After Mendy and Benzema, the turn of Lucas Hernandez: the Superior Court of Madrid on Wednesday ordered the imprisonment of the French international defender of Bayern Munich for a conviction which dates back to 2017, a new legal problem for the Blues.

Neymar took everyone by surprise in Brazil by announcing that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar would probably be his "last", reviving the debate on the mental health of athletes, while some commentators saw it as just another whim spoiled child.
