The police intelligence services, which conducted most of the recent investigations into Gabonese officials suspected of embezzlement, are currently conducting a large-scale operation on customs fraud in Gabonese ports. The DGR is coordinating a large survey on logisticians and freight forwarders active in Gabon. She combs through the declarations submitted by all these actors in the Sydonia computerized system for processing customs declarations, which is implemented in the country's main ports. This consensual operation will make it possible to determine whether the customs declarations are true to the contents of the containers and to recover, if necessary, the sums that have escaped the Gabonese treasury. The investigation, which has been carried out vigorously, has already produced results: two operators and one freight forwarder have already been fined.
