In an interview with the news website ''Le-Mauricien'', Samade Jhummun, CEO of Mauritius Finance, said he was satisfied with the work done by the government, the private sector and operators to bring Mauritius into compliance with the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), after being placed on its gray list. He admits that the classification of Mauritius on the FATF gray list was a wake-up call for everyone.

A FATF delegation is expected in Mauritius this weekend for an On-Site Visit that will start on Tuesday. The delegation's report will be submitted to a plenary meeting in October, which will then decide whether or not the country will be able to get off the grey list and subsequently the European Union's Black List. But before that, Samade Jhummun reassures that the work requested by the FATF has been put in place. According to Samade Jhummun, meetings with members of the bar, accounting firms, those involved in jewelry, among others, are on the agenda to see how the FATF recommendations have been implemented. He believes that Mauritius has shown that before the FATF deadline, it has managed to implement all the recommendations.
