The President of the WAEMU Commission, Abdoulaye DIOP received in audience the Director General of the BRVM, Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE on August 27, 2021 at the headquarters of the WAEMU Commission in Ouagadougou. The two authorities discussed the evolution of the regional financial market.

The Director General of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM), after underlining the very fruitful collaboration with the various organs and institutions of the Union, presented to the President of the WAEMU Commission the achievements and development prospects for a more dynamic and more diversified financial market with regard to current challenges. The health crisis linked to Covid-19 was also invited to the exchanges. Dr Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE indicated the resilience of the stock market in the face of this pandemic. For his part, President Abdoulaye DIOP expressed the full availability of the Executive Body of the Union to strengthen collaboration with the BRVM for the development of the regional financial market. As a reminder, the BRVM, created in 1996, is common to all eight (8) WAEMU countries. Its main missions are, in particular, the organization of the stock market, the listing and trading of transferable securities, the dissemination of stock market information as well as the promotion and development of the market. The meeting took place in the presence of the Commissioner in charge of the Regional Market and Cooperation Pr Filiga Michel SAWADOGO.
