The Weekly Market Review, published by the Management and Intermediation Company (SGI) IMPAXIS SECURITIES indicates that the stock market of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) maintained its upward trend during the week of August 16 to 20 2021.

At the end of the session on Friday, August 20, the BRVM C index increased by 3.13%, thus signing a new high, while the BRVM 10 index recorded an increase of 1.12%. Rising stocks outnumbered falling stocks by 27 values at 12 and 7 flat. "The progress of the Industry and Finance sectors has largely contributed to this increase", explains the SGI which adds that the market has reached a new threshold at 175 points. The same source indicates that the best performance of the session for the BRVM C index is to be credited to the NEI CEDA Côte d'Ivoire share, up 39.73% for a closing price of 510 FCFA. In second position, we find SOLIBRA Côte d'Ivoire which gained 33.49% for a closing at 151,180 FCFA. The title Compagnie Ivoirienne d'Electricité completed this top three with an increase of 29.33% for an end of the session at 2,315 FCFA.

The worst performing stocks are SAFCA Côte d'Ivoire down 20.93% to 590 FCFA at the close, SICOR Côte d'Ivoire which lost 20.69% to 3,890 FCFA and SETAO Côte d'Ivoire, down 6.47% at 650 FCFA at closing. Among the sectors that performed well, the IMPAXIS SECURITIES publication highlighted BRVM-Industry. "The index has increased by 165.43% to 96.22 points since the beginning of the year, posting the best sector performance on the market to date", underlines the SGI, which adds that this level of valuation of the index remains dependent the recovery of investor sentiment on the financial health of the companies making up the index. The title "TPCI 5.95% 2017-2024" is the most traded security of the week with 82.04% of the value of transactions. At the end of the week of August 20, market capitalization stood at 6,921.41 billion FCFA against 6,936.91 billion FCFA the previous week.
