If this targeted volume remains much higher than that sent a year earlier (15,000 tonnes), the group plans to ship 150,000 tonnes of cocoa within three years, according to Guy Roger Coulibaly, its managing director. This stock should allow SACC to approach the performance of SAF-Cacao, a bankrupt company that it bought last January for 165 billion FCFA. For the company, this new season marks the beginning of a new chapter after the first steps taken on the market in 2018/2019. “The SAF-Cacao case is now behind. We enjoy the confidence of the banks and the Conseil du Café-Cacao and we are working for the payment of all our debts over 10 years, as stipulated by the agreement,” Coulibaly told Reuters.
